CAMCARE AIRWAYS

Linder Airway for effective airway managementHelps eliminate trauma and tissue damage commonly associated with NPA introductions.

For short term airway management of the unconscious patient, the nasopharyngeal airway is frequently the appropriate choice. Whether in the hospital or in on-site emergency settings, the NPA functions effectively in rapidly establishing an airway making it an indispensible paramedic aid.

NPA's are also a preferred suctioning access for patients on long term respirator maintenance. Here , NPAs eliminate the mucosal trauma associated with repeated introduction of suctioning catheters.

Due to the susceptibility of sensitive nasal mucosa to tissue damage, the insertion of the NPA is frequently accompanied by varying degrees of trauma. But now you can perform NPA intubations smoothly and atraumatically using the Linder Nasopharyngeal Airway with its exclusive Airguide® Inflatable Introducer

Unique Design
The Linder airway consists of two components:

  • A soft, compliant P.V.C airway with a flat continuous flange, terminating distally in a smooth, even-cut tip.
  • An internal Airguide® Introducer featuring a balloon-like tip which inflates and deflates using a Luer syringe. The Introducer easily extracts from the airway following proper tube placement.

Simplifies Procedure
Due to its unique design characteristics Linder Airway is generally much easier to insert. Use of the inflated introducer permits the Airway to traverse the nasal passage behind a soft cushion of air. The cushion engages and dilates nasal tissue with minimal trauma, allowing the lubricated Airway to move smoothly from the nares through the anatorrical nasal pathway into the pharynx.

When proper NPA position is achieved, the tip is quickly deflated with a syringe, and the entire Airguide® Introducer is removed smoothly and easily.

Greater Comfort - Less Trauma
In addition to the inflatable inducer the Linder Airway features a soft, even cut tip and smooth easy-glide finish. This unique combination protects sensitive nasopharyngeal mucosa, minimising tissue hemorrhaging and associated corrective procedures.

Because of the entry ease afforded by the Linder Airway, optimum size airways can be employed to ensure maximum airflow and ventilation.

The Linder Airway is generally well tolerated by patients. Plus there is a noticeable absence of gag discomfort, so frequently present with oropharyngeal intubated patients as they regain consciousness making it an invaluable casualty aid.
